Slovenian designer Nika Zupanc's latest collection for London brand Sé is elegance personified. Welcome to the New Pretty...
BY DEE IVA
London-based design label Sé's recent show at the Milan Furniture Fair in April had us gasping for breath. The new range of furniture and accessories by rising Slovenian design star Nika Zupanc was modern and streamlined but also unbelievably pretty.
'Collection III' recalls the golden age of Hollywood and throws a good dose of Olympic sports nostalgia, Fifties Modernism and '2001: A Space Odyssey' into the mix as well. Zupanc has employed sensual curves in every piece, from sleek glass cabinets to jewel- and pastel-coloured chairs with a gentle yet contemporary feminine vibe.

We're loving the mix of cool ceramics, polished brass and lacquered surfaces. The oversized armchair and oval floor mirrors play with scale, while softly coloured table lamps with golden interiors add a touch of spaceage glamour. Another standout piece is the lean 'Stardust' sofa in a geometric, art deco fabric, which floats above the floor on thin steel legs. The range builds on Zupanc's past editions, and follows successful Sé collections by Damien Langlois-Meurinne and Jaime Hayon.
So if your inner princess needs a little TLC, then this is definitely the collection for you...
